Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.
During your first massage with me we will sit and talk about any relevant health issues that you maybe facing, your expectations from our session and the style of massage that suits you best. This session will be at least 75 minutes.
Sports Massage is a type of massage designed for highly active people who engage in athletics. Engaging in sports is harsh on the body and can often lead to injuries in both the short and long term. Sports Massage enhances performance and prolongs a sports career by helping to prevent injury, reduce pains and swelling in the body, relax the mind, increase flexibility, and dramatically improve recovery rates. Sports Massage is also highly effective in aiding the rapid recovery of an athlete from an injury by encouraging greater kinesthetic awareness and in turn promoting the body's natural immune function.
CranioSacral Therapy (CST)
I have studied CranioSacral Therapy (CST) and Somatic Emotional Release (SER) through the Upledger Institute. These are very gentle yet powerful therapies very effective in treating TMJ, neck and back pain as well as mental stress (among other things) by increasing the flow of cerebralspinal fluid through the spine and around the skull as well as gently releasing areas of tension throughout the body.
CST and SER do not require undressing nor the application of lotions and oils. The client lies comfortably on the massage table dressed in loose, comfortable attire while the therapist very gently stretches and releases tension throughout the body. This therapy can of course be combined with other therapies as well.

Having completed the Institute of Integrative Nutrition's program I have studied hundreds of nutritional theories, as a yogi and body worker I have studied anatomy and physiology extensively, as a baker and cook I am able to help you adapt recipes to reflect your nutritional choices.
